Terms of Use
Last updated: July 15, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing and browsing the mapaPH hub (mapaph.com) or using any of our linked tools, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not access or use the site.
2. Description of the service
mapaPH is an independent, community-driven hub that catalogs open-source utilities built around maps of the Philippines. Each tool listed in our directory is built as a separate application, hosted on its own repository and subdomain.
3. Independence disclaimer
mapaPH is a personal, independent project developed and run by an individual. We are not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing any government agency, municipal office, or official institution of the Republic of the Philippines (such as the Philippine Statistics Authority or the Commission on Elections), despite using public geographic and census data.
4. Intellectual property and licensing
The source code for the hub and all our subprojects is open source and published under the MIT License. You are free to inspect, download, modify, and redistribute the code in accordance with the MIT License terms. The original site layouts, copy, and specific visual branding elements are owned by the project creator.
5. Warranty disclaimer
All tools, services, maps, and geographic datasets are provided strictly on an as-is and as-available basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Because this project is maintained on a volunteer basis, we do not guarantee that the tools will be accurate, error-free, uninterrupted, or secure. We reserve the right to alter, take offline, or discontinue any application or subdomain without notice.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the project creator and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use of or the inability to use our tools, including but not limited to transit delays, incorrect routing parameters, or mapping inaccuracies.
7. User conduct and prohibited uses
You agree to use our tools only for lawful purposes. You are explicitly prohibited from:
- Attempting to disrupt or overload our hosting servers or subdomains through automated scraping scripts or denial-of-service tactics.
- Submitting false, offensive, or malicious datasets to any of our crowdsourced mapping directories.
- Using our tools or geographical exports for any illegal, hazardous, or high-risk activity where spatial errors could lead to physical injury or property damage.
8. Crowdsourced data and content
Some directories display entries submitted by community contributors. We do not guarantee the validity or accuracy of these listings. We reserve the right to review, edit, or delete any community submissions at our discretion. You should independently verify any information (such as locations, routes, or pet policies) before relying on it.
9. Third-party links
Our site links to external repositories and community sites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of third-party resources.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes arising out of these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Philippines.
11. Changes to these terms
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Changes will be posted here with an updated revision date listed at the top.
